CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR 2008
The City of Lincoln is a truly magical place during the festive season.
Our world-famous Christmas Market in the Cathedral Quarter brings visitors from across the globe, wanting to celebrate the festive season in style!
Imagine a medieval cobbled square, a Gothic cathedral, Norman Castle and black and white Tudor buildings. Brightly coloured stalls and the twinkling of fairy lights. Stallholders dress in Victorian costume selling Christmas gifts in abundance, the aroma of chestnuts roasting on open fires, mulled wine and plenty of Christmas cheer; the sounds of choirs and hand bells ringing and the spectacular atmosphere that one can only get near Christmas - this is Lincoln, this is Christmas!
Lincoln offers a host of other fabulous events during the winter season. Nativity Parade, Santa's arrival, drama, comedy, pantomime, live music and even a Big Wheel or Ice Rink – this years attraction is yet to be confirmed.
If you're Visiting Family and Friends over the Festive Season or just want to get away for a few days; take advantage of our special rates that we offer over the Christmas and New Year period.
